Curtis James Jackson III, known professionally as 50 Cent, is an American rapper, actor, television producer, and businessman, born on July 6, 1975, in Queens, New York City . He grew up in a tough neighborhood and started dealing drugs at a young age, but he turned to music and began pursuing a musical career in 2000 when he produced Power of the Dollar for Columbia Records.  He released his debut album, Get Rich or Die Tryin', in 2003, which sold over 872,000 copies in its first four days and was described as "probably the most hyped debut album by a rap artist in about a decade".  He has released several other albums, including The Massacre (2005), Curtis (2007), and Animal Ambition (2014) and he has won several awards, including a Grammy Award, 13 Billboard Music Awards, and six World Music Awards. In addition to his music career, 50 Cent has also acted in several films and television shows, including Power, and he has written a book, From Pieces to Weight: Once Upon a Time in Southside Queens.  He has collaborated with Robert Greene to write "The 50th Law," a book that shares lessons from 50 Cent's life.
