Emmylou Harris is an iconic American singer, songwriter, and musician known for her contributions to country, folk, and Americana music. Over a career spanning more than five decades, she has earned recognition for her unique voice and ability to blend country and rock music.
Harris grew up in a military family, developing a love for folk music early on. After studying at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, she moved to New York City to pursue music, performing in Greenwich Village's folk scene.
