SZA, Solána Imani Rowe, is an American singer-songwriter known for her soulful and eclectic blend of R&B, pop, hip-hop, and alternative music. She was born on November 8, 1989 in St. Louis, Missouri, and raised in Maplewood, New Jersey. She began making music in the early 2010s releasing two extended plays: See.SZA.Run & S before signing with the hip hop record label Top Dawg Entertainment through which she released Z, her third EP and first retail release. Her second studio album, SOS (2022), was a highly anticipated follow-up to her critically acclaimed debut, Ctrl (2017), which established her as a major figure in contemporary music and culture. SZA's musical genre has been described as being not just one style of music but highly versatile.
